General Information

In honor of Black History Month, students will learn about and be reminded of the important contributions African Americans have made to our country. This week, the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) will begin a school tour. A specially wrapped bus will travel to local elementary schools. Students will participate in a brief but fun presentation about the important role transit played in history. These young people may even get the chance to win some cool prizes. Board Information
Birmingham, AL. – The Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) has hired Ronda Robinson to serve as Director of Communications. She comes to BJCTA with more than 21 years of broadcast experience at radio and television stations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Alabama. She was most recently the “On Your Side” consumer reporter and anchor for WBRC/Fox 6 in Birmingham.

Board Information

Birmingham, AL. – The city of Hoover has appointed a new member of the Board of Directors for the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA). Martin Weinberg was introduced by Mayor Frank V. Brocato at the Hoover city council meeting on Monday night. “I appreciate his strong interest in serving. Martin Weinberg has a good amount of experience and knowledge dealing with transit and will definitely be an asset,” said Mayor Brocato.
